The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police conducted a series of awareness lectures titled "Back to School" in several schools across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, aiming to enhance traffic awareness among students and establish safe behaviours during their commute to and from school, as part of the police’s ongoing efforts to boost road safety and achieve strategic priorities.
The lectures covered a set of important guidelines for student safety, including the necessity of committing to wearing seat belts and sitting correctly and safely inside the vehicle, following safety instructions while boarding and exiting school buses, and avoiding behaviours which could expose them to risks.
The lectures also focused on educating students on safe road crossing rules, the importance of using designated pedestrian crossings, and paying attention to vehicle movement, in addition to introducing them to potential traffic hazards and how to avoid them, thereby enhancing their ability to interact safely with the road and school transportation.
