Al Fareej Fridge distributes 2 million bottles of cold water to Dubai workers

With the support of “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” foundation, and in cooperation with “Suqia UAE” foundation and the “UAE Food Bank”, the «Furjan Dubai» foundation concluded “Al Fareej Fridge” campaign in its third cycle, which was launched on July 3.
"Al Fareej Fridge" campaign distributed 2 million bottles of cold water, juices, and ice creams to cleaning and construction workers, delivery drivers, and street and road landscaping workers in various areas of Dubai, to reduce health risks resulting from high temperatures during the summer.

As many as15 entities contributed to achieving the campaign goals, through the participation of their officials and employees in distributing water and cold drinks to workers at their work and housing sites, and active participation in providing the supplies needed by the campaign over two months, as it recorded 219 community participations in 54 areas in Dubai, and the participation of 50 volunteers, who exerted great efforts during their daily field presence in various areas of Dubai.
Ibrahim Al Balooshi, Director of the Sustainability and Partnerships Department at the foundation, said: "The great achievement made by the campaign, in terms of the volume of distributions or community and institutional interaction, embodies the bright humanitarian face of the Dubai community, and translates the keenness to support workers and care for their health and improve their conditions."

Alia Al Shamlan, Director of the “Furjan Dubai” foundation, said: “Since the launch of the campaign, we have been keen for it to be comprehensive in its follow-up, and flexible in its implementation mechanisms, with qualified work teams, refrigerated cars, and main warehouses distributed in multiple areas, to ensure fast and effective access to workers at their work and housing sites”.

Manal Bin Yaarouf, Chairperson of the Executive Team of the UAE Food Bank foundation, also said: "The bank's support for the campaign reflects its keenness to contribute to achieving its humanitarian goals, and its permanent commitment to supporting the worker segment that represents a fundamental pillar in the prosperity of Dubai”, noting that the integration of efforts between “Furjan Dubai” and the campaign partners and government and private entities was a decisive factor in the success of the third cycle.

During the implementation of the third cycle, “Furjan Dubai relied on operating modern and refrigerated vehicles which roamed various areas of Dubai to distribute water, juices, and ice creams to workers, while volunteers contributed an influential role in achieving its goals.
