UAE an international model for charity

The “Frontline Heroes” Office affirmed that charitable giving in the United Arab Emirates represents an authentic way of life and a deeply rooted value within society, founded on solidarity, compassion and extending a helping hand to people wherever they may be.

In a press statement marking the International Day of Charity, observed annually on 5 September, the Office noted that this approach is rooted in the legacy of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who made giving a humanitarian mission that transcends borders and established a model centred on serving people and safeguarding their dignity. 

The Office explained that the UAE continues to strengthen its position today as a global model in charitable action, guided by the vision of its wise leadership, which has broadened the scope of giving to include responses to crises and disasters, support for healthcare, education, food and water, and empowering communities and strengthening their ability to build a more stable future.

It affirmed that charitable action is no longer limited to aiding but has become an investment in people and a means of creating sustainable impact that transforms lives and gives communities greater capacity to recover and progress. 

The “Frontline Heroes” Office commended volunteers, charitable workers and Frontline Heroes, who embody the values of responsibility and solidarity through the time, effort and expertise they devote to serving others. It stressed that true giving begins with a sense of responsibility and grows through initiative and participation. 

Frontline Heroes Office seeks to improve the lot of the vulnerable in developing countries.

The Office also called for continued efforts to strengthen the culture of volunteering and charitable giving, particularly among young people, as a cornerstone for building a more cohesive society capable of creating meaningful impact. 

The Office concluded by reaffirming that charitable giving in the UAE is not tied to a particular occasion but is a way of life and a renewed national legacy. It stressed that the most meaningful forms of giving are those that restore hope, safeguard dignity and leave a lasting impact on the lives of others. Every helping hand extended, every initiative that eases suffering and every effort made in service of humanity continues the legacy of goodness established by the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and reflects the UAE’s message of making charity a bridge for solidarity and peace.
