Singer arrested in Dubai for allegedly selling nearly 40 fake visas

Major General Dr. Ali Bin Ajif Al Zaabi, Assistant Director General of the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Sector at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, revealed that a renowned singer has been arrested for allegedly selling nearly 40 fake visas to individuals who were falsely promised residency in the UAE.

Al Zaabi said the accused exploited job seekers by selling fraudulent visas for between Dh7,000 and Dh9,000 each, misleading them with promises of legal residency. It later emerged that the visas and related transactions did not provide the buyers with any legitimate residency status.

Al Zaabi emphasized that the Dubai GDRFA remains vigilant in tracking and combating criminal networks and individuals involved in fraudulent activities related to fake residency permits and visas. He noted that such scams often target job seekers and individuals seeking to regularize their residency status in the UAE.

He cautioned the public against being deceived by advertisements or intermediaries offering visas or residency permits through unofficial channels. He stressed the importance of dealing only with recognized and authorized entities and warned against making payments based on false promises.

The Dubai GDRFA continues its efforts to combat abuses of the residency and visa systems and actively pursue individuals involved in deceptive practices that exploit job seekers and others seeking legal residency in the UAE.
