The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security programmes offered at the School of Engineering by the Canadian University Dubai (CUD) have been accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, a nonprofit, ISO 9001-certified quality assurance organisation.
Through the accreditation of academic programmes, recognition of credentials and assessment of student learning, ABET supports excellence in education worldwide.
ABET accreditation assures that programmes meet standards to cultivate graduates ready to enter critical technical fields that are leading the way in innovation and emerging technologies and anticipating the welfare and safety needs of the public.
“ABET accreditation marks an important step in Canadian University Dubai’s continued contribution to the UAE’s knowledge economy and innovation agenda. By delivering globally benchmarked education in Computer Science and Cyber Security, CUD is preparing skilled graduates who can contribute meaningfully to the nation’s digital transformation, technological advancement and long-term prosperity,” said Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, Chancellor, Canadian University Dubai.
Dr Karim Chelli, President and Vice Chancellor commented, “Achieving ABET accreditation is a significant milestone for CUD and a strong recognition of the quality, academic rigour, and international standards that define our Computer Science and Cyber security programmes. This prestigious accreditation reflects the dedication and collective efforts of our faculty, staff, and leadership, and further strengthens CUD’s international standing and the global recognition of our academic programmes. I am immensely proud of this achievement and of everyone who contributed to making it possible.”
The recently accredited programmes represent an important milestone for SEAST and, more importantly, validate the strength of the academic experience for the students.
The outstanding outcome of the evaluation cycle reflects years of continuous improvement, strong faculty commitment, and a shared focus on student success.
This achievement gives the university even greater momentum to advance the programmes and prepare graduates to compete and succeed globally.
Sought worldwide, ABET’s voluntary peer-review process is highly respected because it adds critical value to academic programmes in the technical disciplines, where quality, precision and safety are of the utmost importance.
