The UAE Embassy in Hanoi has urged Emirati citizens in Vietnam to exercise caution and remain vigilant as Typhoon Saudel approaches the country, with the weather system expected to affect northern areas and potentially bring heavy rainfall and flooding.
In a warning posted on its official social media account, the embassy advised UAE nationals to closely follow safety instructions and precautionary measures issued by Vietnamese authorities and to stay updated on developments related to the typhoon.
The embassy stressed the importance of taking necessary precautions, particularly in areas that could be affected by heavy rain, flooding and other weather-related hazards. Citizens were encouraged to avoid potentially dangerous areas and comply with any instructions or evacuation advisories issued by local authorities.
The embassy also urged Emiratis requiring assistance during the emergency to contact the designated emergency services through the numbers +971 800 24 or +971 800 44444.
As part of its efforts to maintain communication with UAE nationals abroad, the embassy called on citizens to register with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ “Tawajudi” service. Registration enables the authorities to provide important alerts, updates and assistance to UAE citizens during emergencies and exceptional circumstances while they are travelling or residing outside the country.
The embassy reiterated its commitment to the safety and wellbeing of UAE nationals in Vietnam and encouraged citizens to remain attentive to official updates as Typhoon Saudel moves towards northern Vietnam.
Citizens were advised to rely on official sources for weather and safety information and to follow local authorities’ instructions throughout the period of adverse weather.
