Sharjah completes Mehathab School project in record sixty days

In implementation of the directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW) completed Mehathab School project in just sixty days, in an urban and educational achievement which reflects the emirate's ability to transform vision into reality in record time, where a desert area stretching over more than 30,000 square metres was transformed into an integrated educational landmark comprising a school, kindergarten, nursery, and educational, health, cultural, and sports facilities, accommodating 400 students within a modern environment that combines academic quality and integrated infrastructure which meets the needs of the community.

This project came to present an advanced model for international schools that combine quality education, healthcare, sports activities, and arts, and to confirm that investment in education is the true investment in the future, and that Sharjah is capable of completing major educational facilities within a period not exceeding 1,440 hours of continuous work, or 86,400 minutes of intensive effort in which engineering, technical, and administrative teams worked around the clock without stopping.

The work team succeeded in overcoming time challenges by executing construction operations at an accelerated pace, and applying a parallel execution methodology which allowed for the completion of several buildings at the same time, leading to the completion of the administration building which extends and includes seven office rooms, a meeting hall, and a training room, in addition to an integrated medical department including a clinic and an isolation room, ensuring a health system within the school capable of dealing with emergency cases and providing daily care for students, which reflects Sharjah's keenness to provide a safe educational environment where administrative and health services are integrated within a single framework.

The kindergarten and nursery building was also completed with a capacity of 150 students, a building that serves the early childhood stage by providing six classrooms, a library, a multi-purpose yard, a principal's office, a teachers' room, a meeting hall, a doctor's room, a kitchen, and toilets, to form an ideal educational environment that combines education, entertainment, and healthcare in one framework, supporting children's skills and keeping pace with their needs in their early years.

As for the building for grades 1 to 4, it was completed with a capacity of 250 students, and includes ten classrooms equipped with the latest educational tools, in addition to a library, a multi-purpose yard, a principal's office, a teachers' room, a meeting hall, a doctor's room, a kitchen, and toilets, the building was designed to enhance classroom and extracurricular activities and provide a stimulating educational environment that supports students' skills and keeps pace with modern curricula, reflecting Sharjah's vision in developing basic education and providing advanced educational environments.

The theatre building comes to add a cultural and artistic dimension to the project, as it accommodates 117 people and can be used as a multi-purpose hall to host school events and initiatives, and includes integrated service facilities that reflect the emirate's interest in promoting cultural and artistic activities within schools and providing supporting platforms for student talents.

The school also includes equipped science laboratories, modern computer labs, a canteen, preparation rooms, and a rest room for drivers, making it an integrated educational facility capable of meeting the daily needs of students and providing a balanced educational environment that combines the academic aspect and supporting services. The school reportedly covers an area of 30,000 square metre.
