Dubai-based international Pakistani singer Sonia Majeed released a historic musical tribute dedicated to His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
While talking to Gulf Today in Dubai, the singer said, “The tribute reflects Sharjah’s internationally recognised legacy of knowledge, education, heritage, culture, compassion and humanity. With this message of praise, ‘Sharjah’ is a celebration of the values that have made Sharjah a prominent cultural and intellectual hub in the region and beyond.”
‘”Sharjah’ is conceived as a heartfelt expression of love, gratitude, respect and loyalty, expressing the sentiments of the Asian community in the UAE. More than a song, ‘Sharjah’ is a musical celebration of the emirate’s extraordinary cultural identity and its culminating vision,” Sonia said.
The song pays tribute to the leadership and vision of Sheikh Sultan and to an emirate, where heritage and modernity, knowledge and culture, coexist harmoniously.
The Dubai-based singer’s musical tribute conveys a message of appreciation for the opportunities, dignity, protection and sense of belonging found in the UAE.
She pointed out that ‘Sharjah’ has been released officially on major digital and online music platforms, carrying a message of respect, love and gratitude from Dubai and the Asian community to audiences around the world.
Sonia presents ‘Sharjah’ not simply as a musical composition, but as a cultural expression of appreciation. The song is written by Imrana Majeed and directed by Samran Warsi, which is a project of Dollywood Productions in the UAE.
The multifaceted singer was born in Lahore, Pakistan, grew up partly in London and later studied in Dubai. Sonia is renowned for her contribution as a singer, artist, musician, and producer.
