The Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC), announced that Emirati employees in the private sector will be placed on a two-month notice period if their pension contributions are halted or if they do not receive salaries for two consecutive months.
During this notice period, benefits will be suspended. If the issue is resolved within this time, benefits will be paid retroactively; otherwise, they will be forfeited.
There are specific criteria to qualify for the Citizens' Salary Support Programme in the private sector. These include being an Emirati employed by a recognized establishment, holding a work permit from either the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization for businesses under its jurisdiction or the relevant authorities, possessing a valid employment contract approved by the authorities, receiving wages through the Wage Protection System or another approved system, and not having shares in the establishment where they are trained or work.
Additionally, if there is more than one employment contract in any accepted work pattern, only one contract is eligible for benefits. The employee must not hold jobs in both the public and private sectors simultaneously, and they should have a subscription to the General Authority for Pensions and Social Security or another recognized pension and insurance fund.
