Dubai Police warn against fraudulent ads offering visit visas and jobs in exchange for money

The Anti-Fraud Centre at the Dubai Police's General Department of Criminal Investigation has issued a warning about the growing number of fraudulent advertisements and messages promising work, residency, or visit visas in exchange for money.

These deceptive ads are being shared on social media and messaging apps, often using the names of unlicensed companies or falsely presenting themselves as official entities to trick victims and steal their money.

As part of its ongoing "Be Aware of Fraud" awareness campaign, the Centre emphasizes the importance of submitting all visa applications through authorised, legally licenced agencies and avoiding transactions with intermediaries or unreliable sources.

It also highlighted the necessity of verifying the authenticity of any visa-related offers or procedures exclusively via official channels.

The Centre noted that awareness and verification of service sources are the first defense against fraud and urged the community to remain vigilant, avoiding false promises related to obtaining visas or jobs through illegal means.

The Fraud Prevention Centre encouraged the public to promptly report any fraudulent activity or attempts through the Dubai Police smart application, the Ecrime platform for cybercrime reports, or by calling 901.
