Family of 3 wiped out after a disagreement over an iPhone in India

In a tragic event that unfolded in India's Maharashtra state, an argument over a brand new iPhone led to the deaths of 18-year-old Kunal Chandhude and his parents who fell down a hillside during a rescue operation, according to local authorities.

In a police report the officer stated that Kunal asked his father, Murlidhar, 48, a driver, to buy him an iPhone. Since Murlidhar had to support his family on his own salary, he refused the request.

According to the official statements, released on Thursday, Kunal, after discussing the issue with his parents, decided to jump down the hillside in Tisgaon district around 10 am on Thursday.

His parents, Murlidhar and Sangeeta followed him shouting for the boy to come back while residents, police and firefighters arrived on the scene.

The official explained that the firefighters tried to set up a safety net at the bottom of the hill as Kunal sat near the ledge. Around 1 pm, Murlidhar climbed the rocks to talk to his son and convince him to come down.

Unfortunately, Kunal fell from the edge, and as his father's attempted to save him, he also lost balance and both of fell down together.

Sangeeta, the mother, got panicked after witnessing her husband and son fall down the cliff and in the chaos she also slipped and fell down as well. They all passed away within minutes. The police recovered their bodies and have sent them for necessary procedures.
