The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court has ruled that a woman pay Dhs133,400 to a man who supported his claim with receipts and communications between them.
The woman had previously refused to pay the amount. Consequently, the man filed a lawsuit seeking payment of this sum along with court fees and other expenses.
In the lawsuit, the man claimed that the woman owed him Dhs157,900, which included a receipt for Dhs133,400 and an additional Dhs24,500 confirmed during their conversations. He had earlier tried to secure a payment order to recover the debt, citing the receipt as evidence.
The court noted that the documents did not demonstrate any proof that the woman had settled the outstanding Dhs133,400. Additionally, it found her claims invalid as it was her responsibility to provide proof contradicting the apparent facts.
She did not establish a relationship between the debt and any alleged partnership, and the bank transfers were found unrelated to the debt documented. Thus, the court decided that the woman is required to pay the man Dhs133,400.
