Temperatures in the UAE soared to 50.3°C on Tuesday as rain fell over parts of the country, with the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasting more rainfall and a drop in temperatures on Thursday.
The temperature reached 50.3°C in both Madinat Zayed in the Al Dhafra region at 3:15pm and Mezaira’a in Al Dhafra at 3:30pm, marking the highest temperature recorded in the UAE on Tuesday, according to the NCM.
At the same time, rains of varying intensity were reported in separate areas, including Margham in Dubai.
The NCM forecast partly cloudy conditions on Wednesday, with a chance of convective clouds developing over eastern and southern areas in the afternoon, accompanied by rainfall. Morning humidity is also expected over some western areas, with a possibility of fog or light fog.
Winds will be southeasterly, shifting to northwesterly, and light to moderate, becoming active at times and stirring dust. Speeds are expected to range from 10 to 25 km/h, reaching up to 40 km/h.
The sea will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
On Thursday, the weather is expected to remain clear to partly cloudy, with a possibility of convective clouds forming over eastern areas in the afternoon. Morning humidity is forecast over some coastal areas, with a chance of light fog.
Temperatures are expected to drop on Thursday.
Winds will be southeasterly, shifting to northwesterly, light to moderate and occasionally active, with dust expected to be stirred over western areas. Speeds will range from 10 to 25 km/h, reaching up to 40 km/h.
The Arabian Gulf will be light to moderate, becoming rough at times towards the west, while the Oman Sea will remain slight.
