UAE announces academic calendar for higher education institutions for 2026-2027

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research released the academic calendar for higher education institutions in the country on Tuesday, in preparation for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year.

As stated on their "X" account, the Ministry mentioned that the academic calendar is designed to include all public and private higher education institutions nationwide, allowing these institutions some flexibility regarding the start and end dates of the academic year based on their programme requirements.

The academic year is scheduled to begin on August 31, 2026, with the fall semester ending on December 18, 2026. Students will have a winter break from December 21, 2026, to January 1, 2027, lasting two weeks.

According to the calendar, the spring semester will commence on January 4, 2027, with a spring break from April 5, 2027, to April 9, 2027, lasting one week. This semester will conclude on May 14, 2027, followed by the summer semester from May 24, 2027, to July 2, 2027.

The academic year will officially end on July 2, 2027.
