Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court ordered a man to pay Dhs5,000 in compensation to another, as they were playing basketball together, but the first beat him and punched him, causing a bruise on the left side of the face and an abrasion on the inner mucous membrane of the upper lip.
In the details, a man filed a lawsuit against another requesting a judgment to order him to pay Dhs100,000 as fair compensation for the physical, psychological, and social pain he incurred, due to the appellee slapping him with a powerful punch on the left side of his face, with a legal interest of 12% from the date the judgment becomes final until execution, and ordering him to pay fees, expenses, and attorney fees.
The complainant stated in his lawsuit that while playing basketball together, the appellee beat and punched them, causing the injuries described in the medical report, a bruise on the left side of the face and an abrasion on the inner mucous membrane of the upper lip, adding that a judgment was issued convicting him and fining him Dhs10,000 as compensation for moral damages, as the assault was witnessed by people on the scene of the incident.
The court explained that the previous criminal judgment established the act of assault, and consequently ordered the appellee to pay the plaintiff Dhs5,000 as compensation for all damages incurred.
