Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court ordered a man to return another Dhs20,000, and fined him Dhs3,000, as compensation to the latter who he had contacted via the internet after posting an advertisement offering distinguished number plates to deceive him and seize his money.
In the details, a man filed a lawsuit against another, requesting that he be ordered to pay him Dhs20,000, in addition to Dhs15,000, as compensation for the material and moral damages he incurred, as well as obligating him to pay fees, expenses, and attorney fees.
The court explained that the complainant filed his lawsuit seeking the return of the amount seized by the suspect and compensation, and that he had previously filed a complaint with the competent authorities against him, after which he was referred for criminal trial on charges of conniving with an anonymous suspect to seize the victim's money through fraud after they offered him distinguished number plates, and supported their lies by the anonymous suspect publishing an ad for the plates on a website and sending phone messages to the victim, asking him to transfer the money subject of the report to the second suspect's account, thereby managing to seize the money.
The plaintiff indicated that a judgment was issued against the suspect, which became final and binding.
The court ordered the suspect to return Dhs20,000 to the complainant, and Dhs3,000 as compensation for all material and moral damages incurred after being deprived of the use of his money, the expenses he incurred, and the psychological harm due to what the suspect committed.
