Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) implemented the Kalba Ring Road development project. The project works included the development and expansion of the road with a length of 5.8 kilometres, which enhances the efficiency of the traffic network and keeps pace with the accelerated development requirements in the city.
The project work also included the construction of a third lane along the road, to increase capacity and improve traffic movement, especially during peak times, which contributes to reducing congestion and raising the efficiency of mobility between different areas.
The work also included the implementation of dedicated acceleration and deceleration lanes at the road entrances and exits, providing a smoother and safer transition for vehicles, and enhancing traffic safety levels by organising entry and exit movements.
The work included updating the associated infrastructure to ensure the road's readiness to meet current and future needs, and enhance its sustainability according to the highest approved engineering specifications and standards.
The project allegedly comes within the framework of the SRTA's strategy aimed at implementing qualitative projects.
The project allegedly comes within the framework of the SRTA's strategy aimed at implementing qualitative projects which contribute to providing a modern and safe road network, capable of absorbing urban and population growth, and raising the level of services provided to road users, which reflects positively on the ease of mobility and quality of life.
It is regarded as an important addition to the road system in Kalba, as it contributes to improving the connection between neighbourhoods and vital facilities, shortens travel time, and provides a more efficient mobility experience for road users, supporting economic and service activity in the city.
SRTA affirmed that the project comes within a series of developmental projects it is implementing in various cities of the Emirate of Sharjah, to build an integrated road network which keeps pace with the developmental plans of the Emirate, enhances infrastructure efficiency, and provides a safer and smoother traffic environment for all road users.
