8-year-old Iraqi girl thanks Emiratis for a ‘beautiful trip’

Eight-year-old Iraqi girl, Emarat Mohammed Hassan Khudair, did not know that her spontaneous moments of joy while she ran carrying her certificate of success would attract the attention of thousands of people.

A video clip documenting the girl’s celebration of her success at school in Al Anbar, Iraq went viral on social media platforms, while her name, Emarat, caught the attention of Emiratis, who interacted with her story and her family’s love for the UAE.

“I did not expect the video clip to spread in this way; everything that happened was spontaneous, and so was my daughter’s joy and the great interaction from the Emirati people made us happy,” Emarat’s father told Al Khaleej during the visit Emarat and her family paid to the UAE.

“I chose the name Emarat for my daughter as an expression of my love for the UAE and in appreciation of its humanitarian stances in helping countries, while her brother was named Zayed out of love for the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah have mercy on him,” he added.

Emarat addressed a message to the Emirati people in which she said, “Hello to the generous and kind people! I have been overwhelmed by your sincere feelings and kind words.”

“I will never forget my first visit to the UAE as long as I am alive. It was one of the most beautiful trips I have ever had with my family. From the moment we arrived, we felt the warm welcome and the generous hospitality; we felt as if we were among our own people,” she added.
