The Emirates Health Services (EHS) has reaffirmed that parents can obtain an electronic birth certificate for their newborns through a fast and simplified digital service that is available to both UAE citizens and residents of all nationalities.
The service is designed to streamline the registration process by allowing eligible applicants to complete the procedure online without the need for lengthy paperwork or multiple visits to service centres. According to EHS, the electronic birth certificate is issued instantly once the application requirements are fulfilled.
The service is available to the parents of newborns as well as individuals who have been legally authorised through a valid power of attorney. To complete the application, parents must possess valid Emirates ID cards, which are required for identity verification during the digital process.
EHS said the fee for issuing the electronic birth certificate is Dhs65. Applicants who wish to receive a physical copy through a delivery service can opt for home delivery by paying an additional Dhs20.75.
Parents can access the service through the Emirates Health Services' official website or its smart application, enabling them to submit applications and receive the certificate electronically at their convenience.
The initiative reflects EHS' continued efforts to enhance digital government services, simplify customer journeys, and improve the efficiency and accessibility of essential healthcare and civil documentation services across the UAE.
