A Pakistani woman has given birth to quintuplets — three girls and two boys — at a private hospital in Quetta city of Balochistan province, according to the hospital administration.
Doctors said the complex delivery was carried out successfully, and both the mother and all five newborns are in stable condition. Doctors placed all five newborns in special neonatal care for 10 days as a precautionary measure.
The couple, which already had three children, has now grown to eight children following the rare multiple birth.
Relatives and well-wishers expressed happiness over the safe delivery and wished the mother and newborns good health.
Hospital authorities described the birth as an uncommon medical event, noting that a dedicated team of obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and support staff managed the delivery and is closely monitoring the health of the mother and infants.
