Stressing the importance of using tyres that meet approved technical specifications and regularly checking their condition, the directorate warned against the dangers of using substandard or damaged tyres, especially in high temperatures, as this could lead to sudden tyre blowouts and loss of vehicle control, thus endangering the safety of drivers and other road users.
The initiative also included providing initial tyre inspections and air pressure measurements.
