Compensatory exams for students in grades 5 through 12 in public and private schools that follow the curriculum of the Ministry of Education (MoE) begin on Monday and will continue until next Thursday.
The exams are being conducted for students who were absent from the end-of-term exam for the third semester with an acceptable excuse or who faced technical problems and whose data was collected through the Intelligent Data Hub (IDH) portal.
According to MoE’s general guidelines, the exams will be implemented electronically but students will take their exams in person inside their schools. 12-grade students enrolled in private schools will take all their exams at public schools under the supervision and co-ordination of their respective school branch coordinators.
The English language exam for twelfth grade, however, will be administered electronically in written form.
The MoE stressed the necessity for all students to bring their own laptops throughout the exam period. According to the schedule, 12th grade students in general, elite and advanced tracks will begin their exams on Monday with mathematics and social studies exams, while Tuesday, July 7, will witness the English language exam (written and reading) and chemistry exam. Students will take the physics and Islamic education exams on Wednesday, July 8, and the exams will conclude on Thursday, July 9, with the Arabic language and biology exams. Students in the applied track will begin their exams by taking the subjects of applied mathematics and social studies and English language (written and reading) on Tuesday.
The students will take the Applied Sciences and Islamic Education exams on Wednesday and will conclude their exams on Thursday with the Arabic language exam.
The MoE’s instructions underlined the necessity for students to wear the school uniform, bring fully charged laptops and abide by the exam committees’ rules and regulations against cheating and for committees to arrive early for the exams.
