The General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) affirmed that drugs do not only target the individual or the family, but their negative effects extend to the entire society, due to the health, social, and security damages they cause, calling for enhancing community awareness and early prevention to protect children and safeguard the family.
Abu Dhabi Police broadcasted a true story via its digital platforms as part of the “Chance for Hope” programme, highlighting the journey of a recovering addict, and the support and treatment the programme provided which contributed to restoring his life and reuniting his family, in an awareness message affirming that seeking treatment is the beginning of the path to recovery, and that hope exists for everyone who wishes to change.
The ADP affirmed that the “Chance for Hope” programme embodies its humanitarian approach in supporting those wishing for treatment and recovery, by providing a safe and confidential environment that encourages abusers of narcotic and psychotropic substances to seek treatment, contributing to their reintegration into society and enabling them to start a new life.
ADP renewed its call to community members to enhance awareness of the dangers of drugs, emphasising that prevention is a shared responsibility which starts with the family and requires the cooperation of everyone to protect society and safeguard its security and stability.
