High school student dies on his way to exam centre in Al Ghail area of Ras Al Khaimah

Salem Ali Rashid Al Mazrouei, an Emirati high school student, 18, lost his life in a tragic accident that took place last Thursday morning in Al Ghail area, about 45 kilometers south of Ras Al Khaimah City, while he was on his way to his school to take the end-of-year exams for the current academic year (2025-2026).

Ali Rashid Al Mazrouei, the father of the deceased, told Al Khaleej that his son was heading to seek knowledge and take the school exam on June 25, just a few months away from achieving his dreams and joining the university and the major that he dreamed of.

He was eagerly awaiting his graduation ceremony from school, which was supposed to be held in a few days, he added, noting that another student, a friend and classmate of his son, was injured in the accident and was still receiving treatment in the hospital.

The grieving father explained that the two students were surprised by a truck in front of them and his son’s friend, who was driving the car, tried to avoid it but could not.

Al Mazrouei expressed his personal thanks and the family’s gratitude and appreciation to all those who supported the family in their great loss, noting that mourners flocked from various areas of Ras Al Khaimah and other emirates of the country.

He also thanked the competent authorities for their efforts in alleviating the family’s suffering and for following up on and completing the legal and official procedures related to the accident and the death.
