A select group of Filipinos may now obtain their short-term visa upon arrival in the UAE beginning June 25, 2026.
The announcement was posted on the Facebook Page of the Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs (READ#DFAAdvisory) on Wednesday.
According to the official DFA press release, which Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso Ferdinand Ver and the Philippine Consulate General-Dubai Cultural Section, shared mid-afternoon of Wednesday: “Filipino citizens travelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) using their Philippine passports and possessing valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card issued by any of the following countries: United States of America, European Union member states, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Republic of Korea, Canada, and New Zealand, shall be eligible for the grant of a visa-on-arrival by the UAE.”
The interested may stay in the UAE for a minimum of 14 to 60 days. For those going for the 14-day stay, they are to pay Dhs100.00. The visa may be extended for another 14 days “at a fee of Dhs250.00.”
The 60-day option is “not extendable” and the interested are charged Dhs250. According to the press release, the new privilege granted to valid Philippine passport holders “was in view of the excellent bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UAE.”
Ambassador Ver told Gulf Today: “The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General in Dubai welcome the UAE’s grant of the visa-upon-arrival facility for eligible Filipinos. This positive development further strengthens our close ties and will boost tourism, business, and people-to-people connections between the Philippines and the UAE.”
