In an initiative implemented by Al Darei family for the second time in a row in compliance with the wise leadership’s orders calling for reducing marriage expenses and moving away from extravagance, and encouraging young Emiratis to get married, Mohammed Salem Al Darei took the initiative to marry off his sister without a wedding ceremony.
The bride agreed to her brother’s proposal, thus becoming the second bride to be married without a wedding ceremony in the family.
“We always strive to follow the example of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and our wise leadership, which calls for staying away from extravagant wedding displays and exaggerated dowries, these being alien to our local simple and authentic society,” Al Darei said, emphasising the need to encourage young people to get married by easing the financial burden on them.
He pointed out that after the family and friends gathered at the family ceremony for the marriage contract, he saw that there was no need to burden the groom with more financial costs so that the money that would be paid at the wedding ceremony could be used to serve other purposes.
By this, the groom could start his social and family life without a financial burden which would ultimately contribute to achieving happiness and family and social stability for the couple, he said.
“I consulted my sister, who did not object and understood the true meaning of the initiative, which is to start married life in an atmosphere of stability, tranquillity, and affection,” he added.
Later, he told the groom that he could take his wife to the marital home after the marriage ceremony was completed, which was met with blessings from the groom and those present. Everyone was urged to implement such an initiative to encourage Emiratis to get married, he said.
