School administrations announced updated student attendance schedules as of June 16-23, for the 2025-2026 academic year, as part of preparations for the end-of-third-semester exams.
The administrations clarified, based on a circular issued by the Ministry of Education (MoE), that the school day from June 16 to 19 will end two academic periods before the official dismissal time, allowing students additional time for revision and preparation for final exams.
It was also decided that student attendance at school on Monday and Tuesday, June 22 and 23, would not be mandatory, to give them the opportunity to use these two days for self-study from home, follow up on educational activities, and prepare for exams.
School administrations also affirmed that schools would continue to welcome students who wish to attend during these two days, to benefit from academic support programmes, educational revisions, and educational activities implemented by the schools, as deemed appropriate.
These measures allegedly come within the framework of the MoE's keenness to provide a flexible and supportive educational environment which contributes to enhancing students' readiness for exams and achieving a balance between study requirements and their needs during the period preceding the final exams.
