Make-A-Wish Foundation fulfilled the dream of six-year-old Omar, who was not looking for just a toy, but for a window to a wider world.
Since Omar was introduced to the world of digital games, his passion became clear for everything which gave him an immersive experience, taking him away from difficult daily details.
His wish seemed simple on the surface, but it was profound in its impact: to own a "Meta Quest VR" device to live his own adventures and create his moments full of life.
Because fulfilling wishes at Make-A-Wish Foundation goes beyond the idea of a gift, a comprehensive experience was designed for Omar and his family inside one of Abu Dhabi's digital gaming destinations. There, he was not just a visitor, but the hero of an exciting challenge, playing 10 digital games, and at the end, a big surprise awaited him.
With a spirit full of enthusiasm, Omar took on the challenge with his sister, moving between games, laughing, discovering, and creating moments which resemble nothing but true childhood. He was immersed in every detail of the experience, as if every stage he completed brought him closer to his wish and to a deep sense of accomplishment.
When the challenge was complete, the curtain was lifted on the awaited surprise: his own "Meta Quest VR" device. At that moment, Omar's features lit up with pure joy, and happiness seemed to redraw his features, not as a child facing illness, but as a child living his moment as he deserves.
Hani Al Zubaidi, CEO of the Foundation, said, "We believe that building psychological strength in children does not come from completely changing their reality, but from giving them sincere moments that restore their sense of ability and joy."
