Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) announced that a temporary traffic diversion would be implemented on Al Khan Road from Saturday (June 6, 2026) to develop and expand the road and construct bridges as part of its efforts to enhance traffic flow and improve the emirate’s infrastructure.
The traffic diversion would be implemented according to the approved alternative routes, as shown in the project’s traffic plan, ensuring the continuity of traffic flow and minimizing disruptions caused by the construction work, it said.
The project is part of SRTA’s ongoing plans to develop and enhance the road network to keep pace with the urban and population growth the emirate is experiencing, it added.
The development and expansion works aim to enhance the road’s capacity and improve the level of traffic services provided to its users with a view to easing movement and raising safety levels on the road, it said.
SRTA urged road users to abide by the approved traffic diversions, use alternative routes and follow traffic guidelines and signs throughout the work area to preserve their safety and the safety of others and ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the project implementation period.
