Abu Dhabi shuts down cafe for repeated violations of food safety laws

Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) issued a decision administratively shutting down Galleria Café LLC in Zayed Port area, which holds trade licence no. CN-4237302, for violating law no. 2 for 2008 regarding food in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the regulations issued thereunder and posing a danger to public health.

ADAFSA explained that the food control report stated that the administrative closure decision followed the café’s repeated violations of food safety requirements and its failure to correct them, which necessitated an immediate action to be taken to ensure food safety and consumer health.

ADAFSA indicated that the administrative closure and detection of the observed violations came as part of its plan to strengthen the food safety system in Abu Dhabi, noting that all food facilities were subject to regular inspection to ensure their abidance by food safety requirements with a focus on proactive protection of consumers.
