Sharjah Charity International distributed 15,000 Iftar meals at sunset on Arafat Day to workers and needy families in several locations within the Emirate of Sharjah, as part of its seasonal initiatives implemented during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, known as "Arafat Day Meals".
Abdullah Sultan Bin Khadim, the CEO of the Association, affirmed that the distribution of these meals comes within the framework of the Association's keenness to share the reward and joy with the working and needy categories of society during these blessed days, noting that the meals were carefully prepared to be complete and suitable for the needs of the beneficiary group.
Bin Khadim added that Sharjah Charity was keen on precise coordination to ensure the timely delivery of meals in a way which preserves privacy and considers the density in the targeted locations, as the implementation was carried out by volunteer teams and field staff under the direct supervision of the Association's work teams in cities and branches.
Bin Khadim explained that this initiative is part of a wide range of seasonal projects launched by the Association during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, which include facilitating Hajj, alleviating distress, treating critical cases, distributing sacrificial meat, Eid clothing, in addition to construction, water, and treatment projects inside and outside the UAE.
