Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has completed the project of connecting electricity to all residential units in the fourth and final phase of Al Mowrrada 8 area in Al Suyouh district, which includes 380 residential villas, implemented as part of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.
The total electrical load for the project allegedly reached approximately 26.27 megawatts, and the lengths of medium and low voltage cables were 29.2 km, reflecting the size and importance of the project in supporting the electricity distribution network and meeting the requirements of urban expansion in the area, reflecting SEWA’s continuous efforts to develop infrastructure and provide the best services for modern residential projects, in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide a decent life and residential stability for citizens.
Engineer Ahmed Salem Al Bas, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department at SEWA, affirmed that the project was implemented according to the highest standards of quality and efficiency, and included extending high and low voltage cable networks, and installing and commissioning a number of subsidiary distribution stations to ensure stable and secure electricity supply to the new residential area with high operational efficiency.
Al Bas pointed out that “Al Mowrrada 8” area is witnessing rapid urban growth, which necessitated the development of an integrated action plan to meet the growing demand for energy and water services, emphasising its commitment to adopting the latest technologies and smart systems in distribution networks to reduce losses and ensure resource sustainability.
SEWA places infrastructure projects for new residential areas at the top of its priorities, as all technical and engineering teams work in coordination with government agencies and developers to accelerate the pace of work and ensure the readiness of networks before citizens move into their new homes, Al Bas added.
