Dubai Police reaffirmed its commitment to preserving public peace and enhancing the quality of life in residential communities by taking strict action against dangerous traffic behaviour and noise disturbances caused by reckless motorists.
The force warned against practices such as reckless and careless driving, performing stunts on public roads, and using illegally modified vehicles with excessively loud engines, stressing that such actions endanger road users and disturb residents.
Police said these behaviours negatively affect community members, particularly children, elderly people, and patients, by causing anxiety, fear, and disruption in neighbourhoods. Authorities added that such conduct undermines public peace and does not reflect Dubai’s civilised image.
Brigadier Essam Ibrahim Al Awar, Deputy Director of the General Department of Traffic, said traffic patrols recently stopped a motorist in Oud Al Muteena involved in dangerous stunt driving, tyre screeching, and deliberately increasing vehicle noise levels.
He noted that the driver’s actions endangered lives, disturbed residents, and damaged public property. The motorist was later identified, summoned by police, admitted to the violations, and had his vehicle impounded while legal action was initiated against him.
Brig. Al Awar stressed that noise caused by modified vehicles and stunt driving is more than a traffic offence, describing it as negative behaviour that affects the comfort and stability of residential communities.
He added that Dubai Police deals firmly with such violations due to their impact on road safety and public peace, emphasising that roads are not places for stunts or dangerous experiments.
Authorities warned that offenders could face strict penalties under Local Decree No. 30 of 2023, including fines of up to Dh50,000 for the release of impounded vehicles involved in serious traffic offences.
Dubai Police also confirmed that traffic monitoring will continue to be intensified across key roads and residential areas using patrols and smart surveillance systems.
Motorists were urged to comply with traffic laws and report dangerous driving through the ‘Police Eye’ service on the Dubai Police app or via the ‘We Are All Police’ hotline on 901.
