Sharjah pushes ahead with Dhs12 million water network project in Al Suhnoof

Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) is intensifying its efforts to complete the water pipeline extension project in Al Suhnoof 2 and 3 areas, with a total length of 29 kilometres and a cost exceeding Dhs12 million. The completion rate has reached 40% so far, and the project is expected to be fully completed during the fourth quarter of 2026, SEWA clarified.

Engineer Faisal Al Serkal, Director of the Water Department at SEWA, affirmed that the authority is working on implementing projects to develop the water network and extend main pipelines in various areas of the Emirate of Sharjah. This is in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, regarding the necessity of providing all basic services to citizens and residents with the highest quality standards, and with continuous follow-up from Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council.

Al Serkal pointed out that "Al Shunoof" project is a priority among the authority's current projects and includes extending main and sub-water pipelines of different diameters to cover all residential plans in the area, in addition to installing valves and advanced control systems.

He added that the new water networks and pipelines implemented by the authority are in accordance with the best technical specifications and standards, and using materials compliant with drinking water standards, with the aim of enhancing and ensuring the continuity of service with high quality and efficiency, noting that these projects are implemented under the supervision of engineers from the emirate.
