Brigadier Ibrahim Al Ajal, Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Stations, praised the heroic and humanitarian stance shown by two people who managed to rescue the driver of a vehicle that had overturned and fallen into the sea following a sudden malfunction in the brake system.
What they did embodied the values of courage, spirit of social responsibility and humanitarian co-operation in dealing with emergencies, he said.
Valuing their quick response and immediate intervention, Al Ajal explained that the operations room received a report stating that a vehicle had fallen into the sea.
Dedicated teams rushed to the site where the driver of the vehicle was found to be unable to get out of it due to a malfunction in its doors and his failure to break the glass, he said, adding that the two people jumped into the sea and brought the driver of the vehicle to safety.
This came as part of Sharjah Police’s keenness on promoting a culture of social responsibility, consolidating the values of positive co-operation among members of society and honouring role models who contribute with their humanitarian stances to supporting the security and safety system and preserving lives.
The two honorees thanked and appreciated Sharjah Police for this honour, stressing that what they did stemmed from a humanitarian duty and embodied the values of co-operation and assistance inherent in the UAE society.
