The March of Pride, a significant national event linking Al Maqtaa Museum to Qasr Al Hosn, commenced on Sunday, drawing an impressive crowd of citizens and residents.
This initiative reimagines the historical significance of these sites, which once served as defensive watchtowers safeguarding Abu Dhabi, into a modern expression of national pride, unity, and collective strength.
Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi in partnership with Abu Dhabi Police and the Integrated Transport Centre, the march moved from Al Maqtaa Museum to Qasr Al Hosn amidst a vibrant atmosphere filled with patriotic energy and spirited community participation.
The event highlighted core values of loyalty and belonging while celebrating Abu Dhabi’s rich history and national identity.
The procession unfolded seamlessly, thanks to the meticulous coordination of Abu Dhabi Police patrols, who ensured smooth traffic management and secured the route, making it easier for participants and visitors to move towards Qasr Al Hosn.
With UAE flags held high, participants showcased a heartfelt display of national unity and pride, signifying the spirit of togetherness among diverse groups within the community.
Upon reaching Qasr Al Hosn square, the festivities continued with a captivating lineup of heritage and national events that drew significant crowds.
Highlights included traditional Emirati dance performances such as Al Ayyala, offering an authentic glimpse into Emirati culture and inspiring active engagement from attendees and visitors alike.
The celebration also featured a range of artistic and cultural showcases, underscoring the enduring connection between generations and Abu Dhabi’s rich history.
