According to an earlier report, in implementation of the vision and directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (Sewa) announced the launch of a new initiative to conserve water in citizens' homes in the emirate of Sharjah, by installing approximately 750,000 water conservation pieces in 45,000 homes across the emirate's various cities and regions.
Majid Hareem Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Institutional Support at Sewa stated that the initiative aims to enhance environmental sustainability and instill a culture of responsible resource use, following the success of the "Home Conservation" initiative, which targeted a specific segment of society in Sharjah, including beneficiaries of the inflation allowance.
Al Shamsi pointed out that the mechanisms for implementing the new initiative include eight main points starting with establishing a database of targeted homes, defining the budget, setting a specific timeline, distributing tasks among specialised and qualified technical teams, contacting homeowners and obtaining approval for inspection and installation, conducting field visits to install devices according to best specifications, and carrying out studies and surveys to measure customer satisfaction.
