The United Arab Emirates has issued another missile alert, without saying what prompted it.
The Ministry of Defence said, "Four loitering munitions coming from Iran towards the country were detected, where three missiles were successfully intercepted over the country's territorial waters, and the last one fell into the sea.
"The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the sounds heard in scattered areas of the country are the result of the successful interception of the aerial threats.
"The Ministry urges the honourable public to obtain information from its official sources and verify the facts, in addition to adhering to all public safety measures upon receipt of warning messages."
It was the second such alert on Monday, after there had been none in recent weeks following the Iran ceasefire.
Authorities have not provided further details on either alert. An all-clear signal was issued minutes after the first alert. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
Earlier in the day, the United Arab Emirates issued a mobile phone alert for a potential missile attack on Monday, nearly a month into a fragile ceasefire in the Middle East war.
"Due to the current situation, potential missile threats, immediately seek a safe place in the closest secure building," the message read.
The Ministry later texted, “Thank you for your cooperation. We reassure you that the situation is currently safe. You may resume your normal activities while continuing to remain cautious and take the necessary precautions, and to follow official instructions.”
The Ministry of Interior earlier had said, “Due to the current situation, potential missile threats, immediately seek a safe place in the closest secure building, steer away from windows, doors, and open areas. Await further instructions.”
