The Ras Al Khaimah Police have warned vehicle owners and drivers about fraudulent car insurance advertisements aimed at exploiting their interest in discounted offers. These deceptive schemes are designed to defraud unsuspecting individuals.
Brigadier Tariq Mohammed Bin Saif, Director General of Police Operations in Ras Al Khaimah, highlighted the growing prevalence of fake car insurance ads, particularly on social media platforms, which reach a broad audience. In response, a digital awareness campaign has been launched via the official Ras Al Khaimah Police accounts and website to alert the public to these misleading practices.
According to Brigadier Tariq, these fraudulent advertisements often promote insurance policies at suspiciously low prices, masquerading as well-known insurance providers or authorized brokers. Many victims are duped into transferring money, only to discover that the policies are fake. He urged vehicle owners and drivers to verify the licensing of any insurance companies or brokers through the appropriate authorities before making payments. Additionally, he stressed the importance of demanding an official and valid insurance policy immediately upon payment. He advised avoiding deals that seem too good to be true and steering clear of unreliable offers to protect against financial scams.
To combat such fraudulent activities, the relevant departments within Ras Al Khaimah Police are ramping up both monitoring and public awareness efforts. Brigadier Tariq assured that steps are being taken to identify and prosecute individuals involved in these illegal practices, aimed at safeguarding public funds. He also called on the community to report any suspicious websites or accounts suspected of promoting or engaging in deceitful behavior. Through vigilance and cooperation, such scams can be effectively countered.
