The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), acting on directives from the Education, Human Development and Community Council, has announced that nurseries located in government and commercial buildings across the emirate will be prepared to welcome children from Thursday, April 16, 2026.
The move forms part of broader efforts to gradually restore in-person early childhood education while maintaining strict safety standards. Authorities stressed that readiness will depend on the successful completion of specialised training for all administrative and teaching staff.
This training focuses on emergency preparedness and crisis management protocols, ensuring that nurseries are fully equipped to respond effectively to any situation. The aim is to create a safe, supportive and well-regulated environment for young learners returning to classrooms.
SPEA reaffirmed its commitment to prioritising children’s wellbeing, while ensuring that all centres adhere to approved guidelines before resuming operations.
