Al Ain court orders man to pay remaining loan amount of Dhs181,000 to the bank

Al Ain Civil, Commercial and Administrative Cases Court ordered a man to pay Dhs181,890 to a bank, from which he had obtained a personal loan of Dhs607,000.

The man allegedly continued to make payments until the adjudicated amount remained outstanding, and he evaded payment despite repeated amicable attempts.

The bank then filed a lawsuit against him, requesting that he be ordered to pay Dhs215,341, in addition to legal interest of 12% from the date of the claim until full payment, and to bear the fees, expenses, and attorney's fees.

The bank stated that it granted the appellee a personal loan of Dhs607,000 at his request, but he failed to adhere to the agreed payment schedule, and the claimed amount remained outstanding.

The court clarified that, as established by the expert's report filed in the case, the remaining principal of the personal loan is Dhs181,890, and therefore ordered the appellee to pay it.

Regarding the request for interest, the court stated that the bank is entitled to an interest of 5.75% annually from the date of filing the lawsuit until full payment, not exceeding the principal debt amount.
