In line with the Dubai Parks and Greenery Strategy within the ambit of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, and affirming the leadership’s commitment to enhancing quality of life and strengthening Dubai’s position as the world’s best city to live, work and visit, Dubai Municipality has announced plans to open 35 new parks across the emirate this year, with a total investment of Dhs348 million.
Spanning more than 340,000 square metres and serving 23 residential communities, the new parks represent a significant expansion of Dubai’s network of public and community spaces.
The initiative reinforces social cohesion, enhances community engagement, and strengthens Dubai’s position as a global leader in well-being and quality of life.
The projects are aligned with the Municipality’s Blue and Green Spaces Roadmap 2030, part of a broader strategic vision to expand and enhance green and waterfront spaces across the emirate.
The roadmap includes a portfolio of projects exceeding Dhs4 billion, with plans to deliver more than 120 parks and 200 sports and recreational facilities over the next five years.
Accessible, people-centred public spaces
Park locations have been strategically selected based on planning standards that ensure accessibility within a 5-minute walking distance from surrounding neighbourhoods.
This approach embeds public spaces into daily life while ensuring equitable access to high-quality environments across Dubai.
All parks will be developed as open, unfenced spaces that integrate seamlessly with surrounding communities and reflect their local identity. Designs incorporate climate-responsive features and resilient infrastructure, positioning parks as everyday destinations.
Dubai Municipality is also advancing the role of parks as active community hubs through curated programmes and seasonal activations designed to encourage year-round use, increase dwell time, and enhance user experience.
Human-centric urban ecosystem

Environmental resilience is embedded across all park developments through the integration of biodiversity strategies, climate adaptation measures, and sustainable systems in both design and operations.
Initiatives include expanded tree planting, the use of recycled irrigation water, renewable energy solutions, and the deployment of artificial intelligence and robotics to enhance environmental governance, optimise resource efficiency, and support long-term ecological balance.
Involving the private sector
Dubai Municipality is inviting private sector partners to participate in the development and activation of parks through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models. This approach supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 by accelerating delivery, enabling economic diversification, and enhancing the value of public spaces.
A unified regulatory framework will ensure consistent standards, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability across the emirate’s park network.
Five integrated zones
The parks are designed around five integrated zones to ensure inclusivity and continuous use throughout the day and across seasons. These include early childhood play areas, active playgrounds, sports facilities for youth and adults, social and experiential F&B zones, and flexible indoor and outdoor community spaces for events and gatherings.
Collectively, the parks will offer more than 60 children’s play areas, 18 football fields, 20 multi-use sports courts, skate areas, running and cycling tracks, open green spaces, shaded seating, picnic areas, water features, and F&B destinations.
Dubai Municipality has also developed a centralised, data-driven framework supported by flexible park typologies and design standards to assess community needs and ensure consistency in quality, scalability, and future development.
By 2040, Dubai Municipality aims to deliver 310 new parks and upgrade more than 220 existing parks, creating an interconnected network of inclusive, community-driven public spaces that residents actively use and engage with.
