Egyptian citizen dead after debris from intercepted attack hits Abu Dhabi gas site

One Egyptian citizen ‌was killed and four ​people ⁠suffered minor ‌injuries after ‌debris from an intercepted attack fell ‌on Abu Dhabi's ⁠Habshan gas facilities on Friday, Abu Dhabi's media office said.

Abu Dhabi's media office said on X, “As part of the ongoing follow up to the previously reported incident at Habshan gas facilities, caused by falling debris following the successful interception by air defence systems, authorities confirm that two fires broke out and emergency response teams acted swiftly to bring the situation under control.

“As a result of this incident, one Egyptian national tragically lost his life during the evacuation of the site. In addition, four individuals sustained minor injuries; two Pakistani nationals and two Egyptian nationals. 

Significant damage has occurred at the facilities and an assessment is ongoing.
