Authorities in Abu Dhabi have confirmed that 12 people were injured after debris fell in the Ajban area following the successful interception of Iranian missiles, drones threats by air defence systems.
In an official update, authorities said the incident resulted in minor to moderate injuries to 11 individuals — including six of Nepali nationality and five of Indian nationality — while one person of Nepali nationality sustained major injuries.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, providing medical assistance to those affected. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving treatment. Authorities have not reported any fatalities.
The incident occurred as a result of falling debris after air defence systems successfully intercepted the threat, preventing further potential damage.
Officials had earlier confirmed that authorities were responding to debris reported in the Ajban area, with investigations and safety measures immediately put in place.
Authorities reiterated their call for the public to rely only on official sources for information and to refrain from spreading rumours or unverified reports, particularly during sensitive situations.
