The Abu Dhabi Police have issued a warning against certain hazardous behaviours that endanger both individual and public safety.
This initiative aligns with their strategic focus on "Smart Road Safety." Among the practices highlighted were opening vehicle doors while driving and filming videos to gain online fame and followers, described as reckless actions that could result in severe accidents.
The police underscored that such behavior blatantly violates traffic laws and puts all road users at significant risk. They called on individuals to act responsibly, follow safe driving practices, and recognise that road safety is a collective responsibility. They also stressed that the pursuit of online recognition should never come at the cost of human lives.
Authorities outlined strict legal consequences for offenders. These include a fine of Dhs2,000, 23 traffic points added to the violator's record, and the vehicle being impounded for 60 days.
To reclaim the impounded vehicle, offenders must pay a fee of Dhs50,000. The police emphasised their zero-tolerance policy towards such transgressions.
