Various parts of the UAE experienced moderate to heavy rainfall on Thursday as unstable weather conditions continued to affect the country, bringing cooler temperatures, strong winds, and reduced visibility in several areas.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the highest amount of rainfall was recorded in Shoukah, Ras Al Khaimah, where precipitation reached 77.5mm — the heaviest in the country during this weather event.
Kalba in Sharjah followed with 65.8mm of rainfall, while Umm Al Gaf in Ras Al Khaimah registered 60.6mm. Other significantly affected areas included Wadi Al Tuwa in Fujairah, which recorded 57.2mm, and Al Dhaid in Sharjah with 53.9mm.
The widespread rainfall is part of a broader unstable weather system that has impacted multiple regions across the UAE over the past few days. Authorities have reported cloud build-ups moving from the west, triggering intense showers accompanied by thunder, lightning, and occasional strong winds.
The NCM indicated that such conditions are expected to persist intermittently, with continued chances of rainfall across scattered areas. Residents have been urged to exercise caution, particularly on roads where water accumulation and low visibility may pose hazards.
Emergency and municipal teams remain on high alert, actively monitoring developments and responding to any incidents to ensure public safety. Motorists have been advised to avoid flooded areas and adhere to official guidelines issued during adverse weather conditions.
The latest figures underscore the intensity of the current weather pattern, highlighting the UAE’s preparedness and rapid response measures in mitigating the impact of seasonal fluctuations.
