Heavy rain swept across the UAE on Monday, bringing with it flashes of lightning, claps of thunder, and a significant drop in temperatures. This weather pattern was attributed to atmospheric instability and the movement of cloud formations from the west, which gave rise to cumulonimbus clouds over various regions at different intervals. Rainfall, ranging from light showers to heavy downpours, began early in the morning and affected Abu Dhabi and its neighbouring suburbs, Al Dhafra, Al Ain, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and several other areas.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) forecasted that intermittent rainfall of varying intensities would persist in many parts of the country until Friday. On Tuesday, rain is anticipated in the western, eastern, coastal, and island areas. The NCM noted that the clouds are gradually moving northward and eastward, reaching Al Ain city by nightfall. Shortly after midnight, a fresh wave of clouds is expected to start advancing from the west toward Al Dhafra and Abu Dhabi during the day.

Rain is forecast to affect various parts of the UAE on Wednesday, with daytime showers expected to shift toward eastern areas and Al Ain city by night. The likelihood of rain is anticipated to decrease later at night.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), Thursday morning is expected to see minimal chances of rain. However, precipitation may return in the afternoon, primarily affecting northern and eastern areas as well as Al Ain city. By nighttime, rainfall could extend to coastal regions, islands, and western parts of the country. On Friday, the NCM predicts a reduced likelihood of rain during the daytime in islands and coastal areas, eventually spreading across much of the UAE.
The lowest temperature reported in the UAE on Monday morning was 12.4°C, recorded at Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 7:00 AM.

The NCM stressed the importance of following safety measures during the formation of cumulonimbus clouds. It urged individuals to exercise caution while driving in rainy conditions, ensure headlights are on in low visibility, avoid areas susceptible to flash flooding and water pooling, and stay away from open or elevated locations during thunderstorms. The center also highlighted the risk of downdrafts that can send debris airborne and significantly reduce horizontal visibility.
Additionally, the center stressed the need for vigilance during rough sea conditions, advising against swimming, diving, or participating in any maritime activities when waves are high and the seas are turbulent.
