The United Arab Emirates has affirmed that targeting energy facilities linked to the South Pars field in the Islamic Republic of Iran— an extension of the North Field in the State of Qatar — constitutes a serious escalation.
It stressed that attacks on energy infrastructure pose a direct threat to global energy security, as well as to the security and stability of the region and its peoples.
Such actions also carry severe environmental consequences and expose civilians, maritime security, and vital civil and industrial facilities to direct risks.
The UAE underscored the need to avoid targeting critical infrastructure under any circumstances, highlighting the importance of adhering to international law and preserving regional security and stability.
