Based on their keenness on maintaining security and tranquility in residential neighbourhoods and public roads, Sharjah Police reiterated that they would take firm measures against vehicles and motorcycles that cause noise and disturbance with a view to reducing negative behaviours and enhancing traffic discipline.
The operations centre received many complaints from members of the society about some vehicles and motorcycles continuing to cause disturbance, they said, stressing that deterrent procedures that would possibly include confiscation of such vehicles and motorcycles would be taken against these cases.
Brigadier General Omar Al Ghazal Al Shamsi, Director General of the General Department of Operations and Security Support, stated that the seizure and confiscation procedures came as part of the department’s national responsibility and continuous efforts to maintain the security of society and preserve the comfort of residents in residential neighborhoods and on public roads.
The persistence of some vehicle and motorcycle owners, particularly young people, in violating laws and regulations and causing disturbance to residents in residential neighborhoods and in some public streets by using motorcycles or vehicles that produce noise or are equipped with illegal accessories and modifications is considered unacceptable behaviour, he said.
These behaviours, which affect public tranquility, would not be tolerated and strict legal measures would be applied against offenders, he added, stressing that field efforts would continue by intensifying inspection campaigns, detecting the violating motorcycles and vehicles and taking the necessary measures against them.
PARENTS URGED TO EDUCATE THEIR CHILDREN
Meanwhile, Al Shamsi called on parents to fulfill their responsibilities towards their children, monitor their behaviours and educate them about the dangers of these practices and their legal consequences.
He stressed the importance of the family’s role in guiding children towards positive behaviours, enhancing their awareness of the importance of maintaining the peace of residential neighborhoods and public roads and avoiding any actions that might cause annoyance to others or disrupt public tranquility.
