The Al Ain Civil, Commercial and Administrative Claims Court ordered a man to pay Dhs 100,000 as compensation to another person, to whom he had given a check for Dhs1,275,000. When the latter tried to cash it, he discovered it had no balance. Consequently, he filed a lawsuit, and the court ordered the man to pay the amount, but he procrastinated. So, the victim filed another lawsuit, requesting that the other party be compelled to pay him compensation for the delay in payment, as well as compensation for all damages he caused him, amounting to Dhs 500,000, in addition to fees, expenses, and legal costs.
The court clarified that the amount due to the claimant was Dhs 1,275,000, and the defendant delayed payment and refused to fulfill the amount, which deprived the claimant of the money and caused him severe damage.
The court stated that the defendant is legally obligated to compensate the claimant for the damage, and the court estimated the compensation for all damages at Dhs 100,000.
